The U.S. state of Arizona currently has eight congressional districts. In the upcoming 110th Congress, the 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th congressional districts will have Democratic representatives, while the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th congressional districts will be represented by Republicans.
Districts 1 and 2 are located in sparsely populated rural areas of the state, while districts 3, 4, 5 and 6 are clustered around Arizona's main population center of Phoenix and its suburbs. Districts 7 and 8 comprise large swaths of rural southern Arizona and the Tucson metropolitan area.
