Arivaca, Arizona

Arivaca, Arizona is an unincorporated community thirty miles north, and twenty-three miles west of the Mexican border at Nogales, Arizona. With a population of about 3,000, it is the oldest continuously inhabited community in Arizona.[citation needed]
The name of the area is O'odham, meaning "small pool" ('ali', small; 'wa:k', pool).
