Arion is a city in Crawford County, Iowa, along the Boyer River. The population was 136 at the 2000 census.

Arion is located at 41°56′57″N, 95°27′47″W (41.949194, -95.462955)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 km² (0.5 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 136 people, 56 households, and 38 families residing in the city. The population density was 111.7/km² (286.4/mi²). There were 61 housing units at an average density of 50.1/km² (128.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 92.65% White, 0.74% Native American, 3.68% from other races, and 2.94% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.09% of the population.

There were 56 households out of which 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.6% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.71.

In the city the population was spread out with 22.8% under the age of 18, 10.3% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 106.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 118.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $33,750, and the median income for a family was $36,250. Males had a median income of $26,250 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the city was $12,654. There were 23.3% of families and 27.7% of the population living below the poverty line, including 38.6% of under eighteens and 50.0% of those over 64.
