Aricanduva

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aricanduva, or, more properly, Aricanduva-Formosa (pron. IPA: [aɾikɐ̃'duva foɾ'mɔza]), is a borough of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It's placed in the west margin of the Aricanduva River, which crosses the city from east to southeast. It comprises the districts of Aricanduva, Vila Formosa and Vila Carrão.

Aricanduva is placed in a valley which belongs to river flow, and, because of this, the floods are common. The largest mall of Latin America (Shopping Leste Aricanduva) is located in this neighborhood, and also the largest cemetery, in Vila Formosa.
