Ari Lahdekorpi

Ari Lahdekorpi is a Finnish Canadian musician and composer. He was born in Parkano, Finland, but moved to Canada with his parents in the late fifties. Ari is known primarily as a guitarist, but he has come to be known as a composer for television and film in Canada. The most notable composition by Ari Lahdekorpi is the musical soundtrack to the National Film board of Canada feature film entitled, Letters from Karelia. Directed by award winner, Kelly Saxberg, this film was nominated for a Gemini award. Ari has also written music for numerous country and pop music artists over the last 30 years.

Ari Lahdekorpi first came to notice via his work as a session musician and a sideman in the late seventies and early eighties in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. After moving to Thunder Bay, Ontario, he has released over 10 CD's of original music, all instrumental, in a jazz and world music vein.
