ARISE (robotics)

ARISE is currently the University of Ottawa's only Student Robotics Group. Founded in October 2003, ARISE competes in AUVSI's annual International Autonomous Underwater Vehicle competition San Diego, California and AUVSI's International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC). ARISE as of march 2007 consists of 26 University of Ottawa students the majority of whome are in the engineering and computer science programs.

ARISE was origonaly founded to compete in the AUVSI international AUV competition and continues to focus the majority of their efforts on the AUV.

The ARISE UAV project is relatively new. ARISE is currently working on their first UAV to be entered in the upcooming International Aerial Robotics Competition.
