Argyle is a city in Marshall County, Minnesota, USA along the Middle River. The population was 656 at the 2000 census. Old Mill State Park is nearby.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.0 km² (1.5 mi²), all land.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 656 people, 255 households, and 179 families residing in the city. The population density was 164.5/km² (424.9/mi²). There were 284 housing units at an average density of 71.2/km² (184.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.27% White, 0.15% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 3.20% from other races, and 0.61% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.57% of the population.
There were 255 households out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.5% were married couples living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.8% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.15.
In the city the population was spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 19.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 92.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $36,154, and the median income for a family was $42,361. Males had a median income of $31,985 versus $19,688 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,974. About 13.6% of families and 15.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 19.0% of those under age 18 and 22.9% of those age 65 or over.
