[edit] Opinion, moved from article
You might be wondering why a band who have only ever achieved #29, and once, in a tiny Australian! music chart, have their own Wiki article...It's because the world's gone insane folks. These hacks are broken up or something. There is no chance that this band's "music" has a lick of cultural significance, so someone please wipe this whole Area-7 waste completely off my beloved wiki. This is is an Encyclopedia, not some catolog of fools who are on welfare. (203.208.88.138, 05:48, 18 Jun 2005)
[edit] Dump this article in favour of a stub on Matthew Reilly
By far more wiki readers will want to find out more about a best selling action/thriller book by an international author than a relatively unkown punk band.
[edit] Unknown?
One of Australia's biggest bands currently, have gone on the Warped Tour, are in no way "unknown". This isn't a place for opinion - so just because you hate the band, doesn't mean they don't deserve a wiki. Far lesser-known bands have them, along with absurdly unknown comics etc.
That said, this should really be under Area-7 (band), and the book should have this title.--Switch 15:57, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nah...
I wouldn't say they were one of Australia's biggest bands... more likely to be one of Melbourne's biggest bands. They were good in their time, but they are out-of-date now unfortunately. Annoying really, i love the guys. and Matthew Reilly's book was a piece of shit. --Jaymz 12:36, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Definitely one of Melbourne's, probably one of Australia's currently active bands. Out of date now? In Ballarat, they're just getting a new wave of mainstream attention. I saw an Area-7 t-shirt for the first time in years the other day. --Switch 14:37, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
- Awesome to hear. JaymzSpyhunter 06:33, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
2.5 million books sold by Matthew Reilly is hard to argue with...
- McDonald's and Phillip Morris used that slogan... JaymzSpyhunter 06:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
But in the end it doesn't really matter the respective popularity of either the band or author or book, but rather the correct title of the article.
The band's wiki should be renamed: Area-7 (Band)
And a wiki on the book should be named: Area 7 (Book)
