Area code 920

This article is about the 920 phone area code in Wisconsin, United States. There is also an Area Code (01)920 in the United Kingdom.

The 920 area code is a telephone area code that covers much of Eastern Wisconsin, including the following larger cities:

• Appleton
• Fond du Lac
• Green Bay
• Manitowoc
• Oshkosh
• Sheboygan

The area code was originally part of the 414 area code. The 920 area code was created in 1997 when the 414 area code was divided in half. The area code for the northern half became 920, and the southern half remained 414. The southern half was later split into 262 and 414.

• A mnemonic device which was utilized by many in the new area code when it was introduced, was to connect it to Green Bay Packer Reggie White's jersey number 92, then add a zero on the end [1].
