[edit] Further Information
"Are You That Somebody?" was released on the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack. The single peaked at #1 on the US R&B Chart. "Are You That Somebody?" also reached the top 40 on the United Kingdom and Germany charts. The baby heard cooing in the background is actually Aaliyah from home videos recorded by her family. This was revealed on her official website [1]. The single was also on her greatest hits album, I Care 4 U.
[edit] Video
At the beginning of the video Timbaland and a crew of men are riding on motorcycles to a cave where Aaliyah and other women are hiding. As Timbaland and the crew arrive Aaliyah sets up a hologram of a huge metal door in front of the cave. The men notice that the door is a hologram and drive right through it. The women are waiting in a large underground room where clips of the Dr. Dolittle movie appear in the background. Everyone begins dancing with scenes with just the women dancing, just the men dancing, both the women and boys dancing, and Aaliyah performing herself. The video ends with Aaliyah and the other dancers flamenco dancing. Fatima Robinson directed the choreography. The video was the third most-played on MTV that year.[2]
[edit] Fatima Robinson
Fatima Robinson is a noted music video director and choreographer. She later directed choreography for other Aaliyah's videos including "Try Again" and "Rock the Boat".
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Robinson has also choreographed dance routines for many films, among them Save the Last Dance, The Players Club, and Dreamgirls.
