Arda Turan, born on January 30, 1987 in İstanbul,Turkey) is a Turkish football player in left and right winger position. He is currently at Galatasaray. He played for Manisaspor in 2005/06 season's 2nd half, where he impressed former Turkey coach Ersun Yanal to secure himself a place in the starting lineup. Arda is noted for his consistent performances on the left wing but he is also capable of playing on the right side, as an attacking midfielder or as a wing back.

Arda returned to Galatasaray at the start of the 2006/07 season and gave an impressive performance in the 3rd round Champions League qualifying round game against Mladá Boleslav, by scoring two goals and setting up two more in the process. Following the game, he was widely praised by footballing experts all around Europe, who are likening him already to the likes of Gheorghe Hagi, a Galatasaray and Romanian legend. Arda Turan is known for his precise passes, assists and his ability to get past defenders. Clubs like Inter, Milan, Newcastle and Tottenham have shown interest in Arda Turan. [1]
