[edit] Reduction of marketing tone

Since this article has already been deleted once due to excessive marketing verbiage, I'm toning down that aspect to try and avoid another deletion.

After it was deleted the 1st time I got permission to write this new version. It's important to maintain a non-marketing, encyclopedic tone about topics like this, else it may get deleted again, maybe permanently.

Deletion vote on initial Arc Flashlights article: [1] My request for review of the deletion decision: [2] Joema 23:09, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Good idea. It seems to me that you have to start out with "Arc Flashlight" is a company that--which will help contextualize the content for the reader and begin with an encyclopedic/NPOV tone. Bucketsofg 23:12, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Name?

"The name "Arc" came from intense white light the Luxeon Star LED produced, looking similar to an electric arc light."

Cite? I believe that Arc Flashlight's first product didn't have the Luxeon. This explaination doesn't make sense in that context. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.12.197.93 (talk • contribs) 19:27, 19 May 2006 (UTC).

You're right the first product was the original Arc AAA based on a 5mm LED in May 2001, whereas the first Luxeon-based product was the Arc LS in December 2001 [3]. Changed article accordingly. Joema 14:13, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
