Archbutler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The term arch-butler refers to a chief butler, who carried on horseback the first meal to the newly-crowned emperor. The term was also used, for example, for the King of Bohemia, whose business it was to present the first cup at an imperial entertainment; he was obliged not to officiate with his crown on.
