Archaeological Seminars

Archaeological Seminars, a private company located in Jerusalem, Israel. The Company conducts a multitude of activities related to tourism of historical sights in Israel. Most notable is the 'Dig for a Day' in which tourists are invited to excavate near Tel Maresha. While licensed by the Authority of Antiquities to excavate the sight, money paid by tourists provide profit as well as funding for the company and the dig. Director, Dr. Ian Stern referred to the activity as a "Tom Sawyer-ish, paint-the-fence-white kind of a situation".[1]
