Arcane archer is a prestige class in the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. It is also a prestige class introduced in the first expansion pack to the D&D computer game Neverwinter Nights (NWN), titled Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide. Arcane archers mix archery with magic, making them fearsome combatants.

According to the game settings, Arcane Archers are groups of elven warriors who excel at bows while at the same time could imbue their arrows with magic. Thus, the requirements of this prestige class is concentrated on their proficency with bows, as well as the ability to cast arcane magic. It also provides a reason to why this prestige class is severely limited with regards to the membership.
Both the D&D settings and NWN require the player character to be elf/half-elf, feats regarding archery skills, as well as the ability to cast arcane spells. This essentially means that the character would have to be multiclassed (or be a bard or hexblade) due to requirements of a +6 base attack bonus as well as the spellcasting requirement.

Arcane Archers can treat mundane arrows as enchanted when firing them, and, as they improve in level, they can use arrows that home in on enemies, arrows that unleash an area spell on impact, and even an arrow that slays a foe outright.
