Talk:Arborea

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Isn't there a "the" missing?

I would suppose

" Other giudicatos fell sooner or later, and the last, the giudicato of Arborea successfully resisted Aragonese for longest time"

should read

" Other giudicatos fell sooner or later, and the last, the giudicato of Arborea successfully resisted the Aragonese for longest time" unless Aragonese is considered a language, not a people. Pdn 21:08, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] It is not true

the phrases: 1)"In the Middle Ages Arborea was the seat of kingdom, one of the four "judicatures" (giudicati) into which the island was divided" and 2)"After a long period of decay, Arborea was rebuilt" are completely false, the capital cities of the Giudicato d'Arborea were in the first centuries Tharros and after Oristano, and both were located in the main area of the Giudicato. The localisation of the actual little town of Arbroea is a bit out from there, to the south, but even inside the historical border of the Giudicato

The lands where the little town of Arborea was built during the Fascism were a march, the town was built completely new

in my opinion the history of the Giudicato of Arborea needs to be placed as a new article, but I can edit it

[edit] Removed Giudicato of Arborea

Arborea was built in 1920s and was never been seat of the Giudicato (Oristano and Tharros were). The name Arborea was just taken in honour to Sardinian historical region Arborea. --Carnot13 18:25, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
