[edit] Class of knots
In attempting to find some references for this article, it appears the term "arbor knot" is used based on the application rather than being associated with one particular knot. From Budworth's The Complete Book of Fishing Knots (ISBN 1-55821-907-2):
“ | Any sliding loop that attaches a line to the spindle (arbor) of a reel may be called an arbor knot. It should not be bulky, and need be only moderately secure since no backing line should ever be so fully extended as to rely solely upon this knot. | ” |
This article should be reworked with an appropriate explanation and examples of (and links to) knots which are suitable for use as arbor knots. --Dfred 16:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
