Arborea is a town and commune in the province of Oristano, Sardinia, Italy, whose economy is largely based on agriculture, with production of vegetables and fruit.
Arborea was built by Fascist government of Italy in the 1920s, after the drying of the marshes which covered the area. The original name was Mussolinia (with which it was inaugurated on October 29, 1928), which was replaced by the current name after World War II. Arborea lies within the historical Giudicato of Arborea but it was never the seat of the giudicato (Oristano and Tharros were). The name Arborea was just taken in honour of the historical region.
