Aquanaut Academy International

The Aquanaut Academy International (aa International) is a non-profitable diver training organization established on 1 January 2000. The major aim is to establish safety of diving and improve diving technique. The head office is located in Osaka, Japan and the secretariat is located in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka, Japan. Currently, aa operates offices in Guam, Saipan, Palau, Ponape, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Philippine and Canada in addition to Japan. The members consist of diving instructors, professional divers and recreational divers at schools and resorts all over the world.

In sports diving and recreational diving, aa courses range from open water diver to instructor, and the instruction and certification are based on the standard manual. Moreover, some workshops are held in Japan for qualifications such as professional diver, emergency recompression specialist, air supplier and emergency life guard of Japanese Red Cross. The organization has been studying the latest diving techniques and knowledge, which result from know-how accumulated by divers and instructors. It also tries to promote exchanges between divers all over the world.
