The city of Aqchah is located on at 283 m altitude, 50 km from Sheberghan. It is the center of the Aqcha District in Jowzjan Province, Afghanistan.The population is more than 40 000 people, according to different sources. It is situated a few kilometers north to the main Sheberghan-Mazari Sharif road.
The city is well known for its traditional carpets and rugs.
