Apollonia 6 was the first and only album released by vocal trio Apollonia 6, which was formed by Prince from the ashes of a previous group, Vanity 6. The album primarily features the vocals of Patricia "Apollonia" Kotero, with backing vocals by Wendy and Lisa and Jill Jones. The album spawned only one hit, Sex Shooter, which also appeared in the film Purple Rain. The album is perhaps most notable for the songs that were not a part of the album, including Prince-penned songs "Manic Monday" (later recorded by The Bangles), "17 Days" (later used by Prince as the B-side to "When Doves Cry"), and "The Glamorous Life" (recorded by Sheila E. in 1984).[2]
Apollonia 6 had a somewhat disappointing chart run, but is considered by some to be a viable part of the Minneapolis sound.[3]

Notes:
- Most of the songs on this album were actually written by Prince, but the songwriting credits were given to other artists within "The Family".
- Although the album was released primarily on audiocassette, a CD version of the album, containing a new 0:38 A-side track Let's Talk About You & I and a variety of remixes, was also released. The CD has become a highly sought-after collectible. [5]
