[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello Aoratos, welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, --Alf melmac 13:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Cardinal winning.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cardinal winning.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scripture_Union

Just wondering why you removed the link to aims & beliefs and working principles on the Scripture_Union entry? I thought it appropiate to explain the organisation.

Thanks for fixing the grammar/wording. It does read better now.

Do you have anything to do with SU?

[edit] Speedy deletion tags

I am glad to have any assistance in tagging articles for deletion that should not be on Wikipedia.

For the speedy tags, you really need to add more to the nomination rather then just using {{d}} as was done on Tenyo. May I suggest you review the WP:SPEEDY article. In the toolbox down the right side, 3rd box from the bottom are more then a dozen tags that will add the tag and comments. For those rare times that none of them fit, there is {{db-reason|because}}.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 19:25, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Usualy do, but that one was pretty obvious. --Aoratos 19:28, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Monster trucks

  • Hi there. I noticed that you added prod or db nominations for a bunch of the monster trucks, although I think they're notable given their participation and visibilty, I appreciate you being proactive in questioning their notability and agree that although I simply assume it, the articles need to actually display it. I manually removed the links on several, but am at a remote computer, and it's very time consuming, so I 'rolled back' the last 10 or so. I definitely don't disapprove of your nominations, and don't mean to make it look bad. Sorry for any discomfort, and again, thank you for your vigilance. Wikibofh(talk) 23:34, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
OK, apology accepted. I'm going to send one individual article to afd to see what the consensus is. If it is keep, I'll lay off. --Aoratos 23:36, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Sounds fine. We have had one go to AFD before, fwiw. It was Avenger (truck). The discussion can be found here. Again, sorry. Wikibofh(talk) 23:41, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scott C. Black

You flagged the page Scott C. Black for deletion as a copyvio. Under U.S. copyright law, U.S. government publications are in the public domain and can be copied freely, so the text from the army web page isn't a copyvio after all. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 21:00, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

OK, I didn't know that. Still a cut-and-paste from another website isn't good for wikipedia. --Aoratos 21:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Allergic Asthma

Allergic Asthma now redirects to Asthma. Did you intend it to? Alec - U.K. 10:33, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
