[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!

Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
  • Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
  • Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific nations or periods.
  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 02:43, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

So nice to hear from you again Anthony. How I miss the winter of Shanghai, and walking along the charming tree-lined streets of north Yangpu to Fudan. Please give your input on Prostitution in the People's Republic of China. The article would benefit a lot from someone with more knowledge of local developments. Yeu Ninje 11:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chinese military history task force

Hello. I am approaching you with this message because you have contributed to some aspect of Chinese military history on Wikipedia and/or have put your name on WikiProject Military history's member list and indicated your expertise in some field of Chinese military history.

Here's the deal. We need a place to coordinate work on Chinese military history. Therefore, I am proposing to start a task force for this purpose. But before we can go ahead with it, I need to make sure that there is enough contributors to sustain this effort. The China-related topics notice board died of neglect and if we create this task force we need to be committed to it or it will suffer the same fate. I'm asking for your opinions on this matter, whether it's a good idea or not, if you'd be interested in it, and what suggestions you might have. Also, if you know anyone else who would be interested in this, please inform them as well. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 02:54, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey there! The Chinese military history task force has been created! Please help us expand Wikipedia's coverage of the military history of China. Feel free to list you name here, and invite your friends too! ;) -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 01:22, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rain gauge & image

Can you help out. User:Yuyasaurus on Talk:Rain gauge says that Image:Woo Ryang Gyae.jpg is not Korean but Chinese based on the inscription. I've asked the original uploader but I would like a second opinion. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:27, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. This pretty much fits in with what the original uploader said. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 10:02, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Needing Help With Photo Copywright

Hi once more, I have a question about a recently uploaded photo that I want to use for Liuhe Pagoda of China. The article lacked any picture, and it really needs one, considering that it is one of the greatest Song Dynasty (or any) Chinese pagoda standing today.

The image is found at this link here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Liuhe_Pagoda.jpg

If you would be so kind, I'd like to have you or somebody else verify the copywright license (it's some random American guy's vacation blog pic). In the meantime, I have given it the GFDL presumed tag, but if I do not verify the copywright stuff, it will be deleted in 7 days!

Thanks for your help, --PericlesofAthens 06:17, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
