I am a frequent anti-vandalism patroller; the amount of half-wits that think they can get away with replacing a Featured Article with "hi" astounds me. Moreover, I can't see how they can act shocked when they get a 24-hour ban :) Yet, it is my duty as a Wikipedian to serve the encyclopedia at least a few reverts each day in the name of the recent changes patrol. This page is not so much a policy like my neutrality policy, but more a template for all the reverts that I do.

1. Find a recent change Lupin's Tool.
2. Press the "diff" button to check if it is vandalism. If not, start at 1. Otherwise, step 3.
3. If it is vandalism, copy the IP address/username that vandalised.
4. Using the history, revert back to the last stable version. The edit history is to read "rv IP vandalism by PASTE VANDAL'S IP OR NAME (talk) to last stable version.
5. Click history again, and link to the vandal's talk page using the link through my edit summary.
6. Insert relevant custom warning from User:Anthony cfc/Vandal Templates. Put title as [LINK TO DIFF Your edit] to ARTICLE NAME.
7. If necessary, report to WP:AIV. Otherwise, back to step 1, or contribute elsewhere.

This system is well worked, and provides a lot of functuality. I believe that the current automation of the entire vandal process is ill-fated, and I prefer to do it by hand than using, say, VandalProof. Lupin's excellent tool is fine for me :) I believe that every little piece of effort I go to - even the providing diff to vandalism and revert by me in the header - will pay off should I have to justify, say, my report at AIV.
