This is my personal dispute policy - it was created for me and, while not exclusive, patented, copyrighted, protected or otherwise unavailable to readers, is meant for my personal use. So - that's not to say it's mine and I will hunt anybody who has copied this - it's just that it's tailored to me, and so if you are going to use it, you will probably have to do a little chopping and changing. Otherwise, CTRL+A (Windows only) this page - go on, it's a Wiki!

1 -- if I get into a dispute, or I sense a dispute of any form that is directed to or otherwise involves me, I will ignore it. I will not:

a) Edit the article, page or document in question
b) Participate in discussion concerning the article, page or document, or matters related to the article, page or document, at any time, except to direct the questioner to this page.
c) Seek DR until the dispute has cooled off; preferable, I will never seek external dispute resolution, including Mediation, a RfC or otherwise...I am old enough and wise enough to not seek revenge.

2 -- I will not, under any circumstances, make Personal Attacks, vandalise (through this user account or a sockpuppet) or otherwise troll the editor I am involved in the dispute with at any time. Period.

3 -- I will not secretly gather a consensus concerning the article, page or document within the Wikipedia community in order to immediately wipe out the editor I am in dispute with when it does come to recommencing DR. This includes:

a) Creating sockpuppet accounts to form, boost or otherwise create a (false) impression of, consensus amongst the community.
b) Hosting a straw poll or other vote on the matter
c) Spamming talk pages of trusted editors, or Wikipedians I have had favourable dealings with before, in order to gain the upper hand when it does come to recommencing DR after the cool-down period I will voluntarily enforce, as stated above.

This is the first time that I have written down this policy; however, it has been around for some time in the deep, dark, OCD and Bipolar-infested depths of my mind :) I believe that this is what has allowed me to gain trust amongst the community, and to gain as many friends on the encyclopedia as I have.
