[edit] Virtual classroom
There are some new assignments waiting for you at the Virtual classroom, whenever you are ready. The Transhumanist 09:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coaching
When you get back, would you mind admin-coaching me? Thanks! -- Chris is me (user/review/talk) 10:38, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good afternoon (GMT time); hope you're well! I see you've matured a lot since you improperly warned me a few months back (I done that on my Wikipedia RCP induction too :) but you've certainly matured a lot as an editor and a Wikipedian since then!
- I'm currently on a WikiBreak, and a matter that requires such a detailed answer and deal of thought such as taking on a new charge is probably best dealt with upon my return!
- Until then, hang in there, keep up the good work and get some RCP work done is my advice.
- Kindest regards,
anthonycfc [talk] 17:11, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- Regretfully, I will have to decline at this time. In short, I'm too busy - on- and off-wiki. On the encyclopedia, I've got four Adopt-a-User charges, a GAC backlog to help out with, RFCU and CHU clerking, RCPing to get done and not forgetting article-writing. Extra-wiki, there's examinations coming up at my place of education. To summarise, accepting would be doing you no favours - the eventuality would be neglect, and a waste of your time. Why not contact The Transhumanist? anthonycfc [talk] 19:38, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RfA nomination ready?
Are you ready to become an admin? (sysop?) If so, I will create a RfA nom page for you. zero » 00:17, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good afternoon! What a kind offer; this is obviously a very important decision to me - the trust of the community in those entrusted with the sysop buttons is paramount, and I don't want to rush into testing that trust. Might I get back to you? By the way, like the user name!
- Kindest regards,
anthonycfc [talk] 16:49, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, the username, Z.E.R.O., is the same person as Meteoroid. (i have changed my username in Wikipedia:Changing usernames) zero » 23:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

- Good evening (GMT time); I have given this matter a great deal of thought, and I would respectfully like to postpone at this time - say, three weeks? Interest has also been expressed in a co-nomination by The Transhumanist, which is of note.
-
-
- Hopefully the offer shall still stand at that time; in the meanwhile, don't ever hesitate to drop by and leave me advise!

[edit] Glad to see you're semi-back
Good answer in the message above. Excellent attitude.
I've taken down the teasing in your coaching section at the VC - that prank pendulum was starting to make me dizzy.
... just kidding (about the dizzy part).
Nice work on the Welcome page.
And don't forget to take a look at your assignments at the VC. I hope you enjoy them.
By the way...
The Transhumanist 21:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] When the time comes...
I plan on nominating you for RfA when your coaching is completed. I think you'll make a great admin. I would be honored if you would wait and allow me to do the honors at that time.
I look forward to your reply.

[edit] Dispute resolution
I am involved in a dispute on an article that has long been protected. The opposing user keeps on refusing mediation, and I do not see any option left. Do you suggest anything? --Shamir1 01:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- My first advice is for you to request an advocate with the AMA; I could fill this role for you if you wish - otherwise, WP:AMA has detailed instructions and the current case wait is around 10-12 days. If advocacy doesn't appeal to you, drop me another message and I'll advise you further.
- Kind regards,
anthonycfc [talk] 19:30, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AMA Case
It is now six weeks since you took my AMA case at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Association_of_Members'_Advocates/Requests/February_2007/0-0-0-Destruct-0_2 but you haven't communicated with me at all for those six weeks, during which I have been waiting patiently. Would you like me to request a new AMA? 0-0-0-Destruct-0 02:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- My sincerest apologies in this matter; this is completely unacceptable on my part, and I hope you'll forgive me for it, and allow me to make it up to you by completing the advocacy I was charged with. In the area of excuses, I lost all my computer data when I updated my OS, and unfortunately the bookmark folder with my AMA cases was lost (including your case) at the same time! I'll get right onto the matter, and if you'd like me to continue advocacy, email me ASAP. Again, sincerest apologies. anthonycfc [talk] 19:28, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. As requested, I emailed you. 0-0-0-Destruct-0 17:27, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My userpage
What can I say? Wow!!! its amazing, thank you so much, I've copied and pasted it across. I've got a couple of questions though, are you OK to keep the templates in your userspace? and have you got a similar template I can use for my talk page so they match? Ryanpostlethwaite contribs/talk 22:45, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- It looks just like many user pages I've come across; User:Daniel.Bryant, User:Arjun01, User:FireFox (who I think made the original design)... perhaps a brand new design would be a nice idea. Majorly (o rly?) 23:06, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Goodness knows - I barely had time to do a non-original design, never mind spawn one from scratch! Yes, FireFox did originally make the design, with Daniel.Bryant and Arjun basing theirs around that. Might I postpone a complete redesign for a few weeks? anthonycfc [talk] 23:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

requesting your advocacy/help on the article on Adam Keller, as it seems all materials about the person are either self published or published by sites which echo his statements. another note is that, apparently, Adam Keller is not consistant with reality with his statements and therefore there is the problem of accuaracy that is requered by a source such as wikipedia.
current version (criticism removed/censored) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Keller criticism allowed version - http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Adam_Keller&oldid=114407791
apparently, as user RolandR mentioned in the talk page, the actual quote allegedly did not include the word "lunatic" which was added by adam keller himself on the self-published source mentioned in the "criticism allowed" version.
thank you in advance for your time (you can also inspect the talk page - [1] and especially, the "criticism" at the bottom. Jaakobou 18:21, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, please do. it is regarding the article George Galloway. You can see the difference in the history. It is primarily regarding criticism of Galloway's criticism of Israel. All of his statements are confirmed by reliable sources, and some sources even include the actual recording of his words. Then there is the criticism (very few, if any at all, actually call him antisemitic), but some users are trying to remove that by calling it slander or libel. --Shamir1 18:39, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

anthonycfc [talk] 02:29, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
You didn't provide much explanation for your decision on this. Considering that 12 out of 18 people that expressed an opinion to either keep or delete expressed at least some support for deleting the archives, I'd like a better explanation of your reading of consensus. —Doug Bell talk 07:16, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- When I take a second look at it, I think I was probably in the wrong here. I've revised by decision to a selective delete/keep rest. Hopefully this is a satisfactory reading of the consensus. anthonycfc [talk] 12:43, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with Doug's concern. There was definitely a concensus to delete the archives (and possibly some of the sub games). The debate needs to be closed by an admin so they can actually delete those. WjBscribe 12:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Decision revised; see the MfD page (link in header) for full details. Relevant pages to be tagged for WP:SPEEDY in a second... anthonycfc [talk] 12:55, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- What about the other games (word disassociation, etc.). There was some discussion about unplayed games, but some of these were routinely played (Ultra, Reverse Radial, Disassociation, etc.). I can't find them, and the template was deleted. Squad51 16:07, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- Good afternoon; I can't find the other games, so I didn't act on them. The main concern expressed was about the archives, which are now deleted. Should the games exist, I'd have a look at them as well - if you could dig up a link, that would be great. anthonycfc [talk] 16:11, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Actually anthony you have had the other games deleted. They were all in numbered subpages. With the current one also having a number. So I suspect you tagged them thinking that they were archives, when the latest one was in fact current. WjBscribe 17:24, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry its the other way round. Actually the archives do still exist, see Wikipedia:Sandbox/Word Association/Ultra archive 1 and Wikipedia:Sandbox/Word Association/Ultra archive 18. Just the links to the pages are no longer on the main page. WjBscribe 17:27, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- To summarise, JzG deleted current subgames when he deleted the index template (see [2]) but he did not delete the archives of those games. WjBscribe 17:31, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'll contact JzG. anthonycfc [talk] 18:19, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
In the future, please don't close XfDs that do not have a clear consensus to keep—those XfDs should be left to an admin. When closing an XfD, you need to read the arguments, not just count the bolded words. —Doug Bell talk 00:50, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I honestly don't see by what logic you can determine that this debate was resolved with a consensus of "keep". There were a good number of editors (with very good records of contribution to football articles) voting for "delete". Surely this is a textbook case of "no consensus"? A quick count gives 9 people saying "keep" with 8 people saying "delete". How is that a clear consensus for keep? Robotforaday 15:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- This is great - I love it when my edits are questioned .. it's by far the best way to expand your knowledge :) I'll have a look at the page. anthonycfc [talk] 15:56, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- Thanks, I'd appreciate it if you could take a look again - I don't mean to bite your head off or anything at all :) it's just it could be quite a far reaching precedent (and radical overturn of the previous consensus as established through the debates listed by the nominator. (October 17, November 13, November 17, November 21, November 30, December 4, December 12, Deletion review December 21, February 6)) As an editor who edits pages that will be strongly effected by this, I'm just keen to know where I stand. Robotforaday 16:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

-
- It's important to remember that XfDs are about consensus and not a democracy. Anyway, I've asked an uninvolved trustworthy editor to have a look at it. Should have feedback in a few minutes. anthonycfc [talk] 16:10, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

-
- Oh absolutely, and I wasn't totting up the responses in order to imply it's a vote- but rather, to indicate that there's a very very real division of opinion about the amassing of these templates. Robotforaday 18:09, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] IRC RFCU channel
I'll ask somebody about that, when I get a chance (nobody else is around, at the moment; even the bot's gone, oddly enough). In the meantime, feel free to PM me on Freenode, at some point (my nick is usually Luna-San, but be warned I'm pretty busy this weekend). – Luna Santin (talk) 19:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, in case you're not aware of it, one of your user subpages (User:Anthony cfc/Vandal Templates) is transcluded onto a number of talk pages, for example User talk:169.139.224.100, and those pages have been adversely affected by your formatting changes to that page. You may wish to de-transclude it. Thanks – Qxz 21:15, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Userpage renovation
Hello, I saw your name at Wikipedia:WikiProject_User_Page_Help/Trading_Spaces and was wondering if you could possibly make my userpage a bit more 'easier' and 'less cramped' because it seems a bit 'unoriginal' and 'unthemed' (if they are even words, I guess you can figure it out) and also have seen how good your renovating has been. Many thanks, Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 07:20, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Not a problem; however - and I'm sure you'll understand - this may have to take a bit of a backseat in my activities ... Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not Myspace! Nevertheless, user pages are important, and I'll be sure to get round to it in the next few days. Bear with me!
- Any examples of my "..good renovati[on].."? I'd sort of forgotten about trading spaces :) Regards, anthonycfc [talk] 17:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
In the absence of objections at the mediation case, I started decategorising the relevant categories. The dispute will be resolved if no one reverts. Else it may be necessary to increase dispute resolution another notch. The only thing left is arbitration right? -- Cat chi? 12:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Or formal mediation, which I would say is often taken more seriously than the Mediation Cabal - not to degrade the excellent work of the programme! Otherwise, Arbitration is the next step. anthonycfc [talk] 17:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adoption Offer
I would be very pleased to take you up on your offer for adoption. My primary interest is in researching and writing rather than editing. One of the primary areas of interest is in the emerging natural burial movement. I have been very busy at work lately so I have not been tremendously active on Wiki. (This combined with the fact that I have had nothing but criticism with the work I have done to date and it has slightly defeated my enthusiasm) I am hopeful with your mentoring that this situation will improve. How does the mentoring process work? Eulogy4Afriend 13:06, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, since I posted that request, I respected WP:NEHAMFTAY before offering adoption to another two Wikipedians, who I have now taken under my wing.
- Regretfully, therefore, I am going to have to withdraw my offer for adoption - I've simply got too much going on at Wikipedia at the moment, as well as internet connection problems off the wikipedia. My apologies - it was wrong of me not to remove the request, but it had been so long since I posted it that I had forgotten :) I'm a member of the WelCom, and pride myself on being a helpful editor. Therefore, don't hesitate to drop by any time if you have any questions; if you're having trouble with the editors criticising your work, and it crosses the civility line into harmful-to-the-wiki line, email me immediately on an AMA basis, and I'll keep an eye out. My sincerest apologies for the necessary decline, and again don't hesitate to drop by!
- Kindest regards,

[edit] I need some serious off-line time
I've been going strong on Wikipedia all month.
Now that the new lesson is up at the VC and the (sidebar) proposals I was working on have run their course, I need a wikibreak.
I would really appreciate it if you and Dweller would watch over the VC while I'm gone, and coach the other participants there. You guys have plenty of experience to pass along, so I have every confidence in you.
The key to coaching is to keep things interesting. You guys are very creative, and you'll do just fine.
I should be back in a couple of weeks or so.
Thank you.
The Transhumanist 19:16, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
P.S.: I've asked Dweller to answer my messages for me. I'd appreciate it if you'd watch my other pages (User Page Design Center, tools page, etc.). Good luck to you guys with the VC. The Transhumanist 19:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Not a problem at all, my friend. Have a great WikiBreak, and as much as it pains me to say it, don't hurry back. We all burn out at some point or another, and it's actually expected that a key contributor such as yourself who pledges as much of their time as you do to the project needs a break. Enjoy yourself, and don't you dare come back until you're fully rested :) until then..

Hi Anthony cfc. Hope all is going well. I had a question for you regarding WP:RCU, since you likely know more about it that I, and you were very helpful in the past. Basically I suspect LimerickLimerickson of being a sockpuppet for I m dude2002, but I'm not sure that I have the grounds to request a check user for him. My suspicions come from the way LimerickLimerickson only seems to pop up to agree with I m dude2002 on RfC disputes, makes very few and far between edits otherwise (very close to I m dude2002's edits), and always supports I m dude2002's views. My questions are whether or not my suspicions warrant me filing for check user, and how I go about doing that. I had filed a request on the Administrators' notice board a month ago, but never got a response. Cheers. — George Saliba [talk] 17:48, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good evening (GMT time); hope you're well! In my Wikipedia contributions, I adhere to my neutrality policy, which is especially important at RFCU; regretfully, therefore, I can't comment on the likelihood of a case being accepted, or any likely outcomes. However, I can direct your attention to the notice at the top of WP:RFCU; CheckUser is a last resort - use other methods first. You may wish to try WP:SSP first.
- Apologies for this, but I'm simply unwilling to compromise my neutrality. Don't hesitate to drop by again, if you've got any more problems or just for a chat :)
