[edit] Change the title?

He's only creditted as Anthony Stewart Head when he appears in American series. I think it would be better to take out "Stewart" as he is most often creditted as just Anthony Head.

  • I agree.
  • I was just coming here to propose just that. I think I will. Zythe 22:28, 12 June 2006 (UTC) On second thoughts, it looks better than "Anthony Head (actor)".
  • He isn't a fighting game character (all those pages are wrong as well). The Stewart is only used on the Buffy credits and seeing as it says 'more commonly known as Anthony Head' that's what this page should be renamed to.--Mr.bonus 17:20, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
  • I have listed this page at WP:RM 81.145.241.220 17:08, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
  • I agree with Zythe; this needs to be Anthony Head (actor) because of the disambiguation; unless you can prove this one is much more notable. -Patstuarttalk|edits 20:52, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Well the Viscount is Antony Head, without the 'h', where the actor is Anthony, with the 'h'. So Anthony Head should be the title of this article with a link at the top leading to the viscount.--NeilEvans 20:57, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
  • What's wrong with that? Isn't that what dab links at the top of an article are for?PC78 18:14, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Anthony Stewart HeadAnthony Head — Request by user 81.145.241.220: The actor is more often credited as the latter than the former. The disamb at Anthony Head should be removed and a line placed in the actor page, stating that there is also a dead Viscount by the same name. PC78 21:37, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey - Support votes

  1. Support move to Anthony Head since this is the name used on the actor's official website. The dab page can be moved if necessary, but is there really any need to have a dab page for two similar but non-identical names? A top link on each article should be sufficient. PC78 21:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. Support as above.--NeilEvans 22:22, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
  3. Support - as above, official site etc. -- Beardo 06:14, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey - Oppose votes

  • Oppose He is most noted for his role in Buffy and he was always creditted as Anthony stewart head. 205.157.110.11 00:02, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Comment, his acting career covers almost 30 years and is hardly defined by his role on Buffy. PC78 09:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Dude, show his picture on the street and what do you think the average Joe will remember him for? Buffy? Most likely. Maybe the Taster's Choice commercials but his name wasn't creditted then. 205.157.110.11 03:58, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
        • Perhaps in America, but he's British and a far more polific actor than what you seem to think. PC78 04:17, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
          • I know that they get Buffy in the UK and there are quite a few Buffy fans there as well as worldwide syndication. It is undoubtly his most notable acheivement and the only work of his that will come anywhere close to passing the 100 year test. It is what he is most recognized for and it his billing is his most recognizable one. 205.157.110.11 04:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
        • The popularity of Buffy is not in the issue, but you can't possibly say with any degree of certainty what will or won't be remembered 100 years from now. Buffy is merely one of his acting credits in a 30-or-so year long carreer, and one of the few where he is credited as Anthony Stewart Head. PC78 17:04, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Alec Guiness was a pretty prolific and accomplished actor but he will be most notably known as Obi wan Kenobi. Sometimes a role is so notable, it defines an actor in the public sphere. For Anthony Stewart Head, it will be his role in Buffy. 205.157.110.11 07:39, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

Add any additional comments:
Comment To say he is most noted for Buufy is wrong, maybe in america he is. But in the UK, I don't think he has ever been credited as Anthony Stewart Head. Also if you go to his bio page on imdb.com his name is goven as Anthony Head and then it says he is occasionally credited as Anthony Stewart Head.--NeilEvans 00:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
