Antoria
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The US brands, Gibson and Fender dominated the electric guitar market in the 1970s, building expensive guitars. The only way for a poverty struck beginner to acquire one of these expensive originals, was to first purchase a "copy". Antoria is the UK brand associated with guitars made in the fuji-gen factory in Japan in the 1970s. The same factory that reputedly produced Ibanez, CSL and Columbus "Copy" guitars. Antorias had a quality feel to them, solid bodies on the electric guitars, slim maple necks, particularly on their "Telecaster" copies and excellent pick ups. Many owners believe that these 1970s copies where comparable in performance to the US brands, although this is a contentious issue.
