Antonio de la Rúa

Antonio de la Rúa, popularly known as "Antoñito" (born c.1973.) is the first son of the Argentine former President Fernando de la Rúa (1999 to 2001).

Antonio, who is a lawyer, proved to be a scandalous first son, a bachelor who has been paparazzi fodder since his father arrived at the Pink House, as the presidential seat in Argentina is called.

Soon after his father became president, he was voted Argentina's most eligible bachelor by some gossip magazines. Nonetheless, he was pictured with several female friends, and rumored to romance most of them.

In 2000, he started dating singer Shakira, in a romance that made headline news all over Latin America. He and Shakira have been seen together at many important events, including visiting with Dominican Republic president Hipólito Mejía. In March 2001, he proposed to her.
