Antonio Ramallets Simón, (born June 4, 1924, Barcelona) is a former Spanish Catalan footballer and manager. He played as a goalkeeper and spent most of his career at CF Barcelona. Ramallets won the Zamora Trophy as the best goalkeeper in La Liga on five occasions during the 1950s and early 1960s. He also played for both Spain and the Catalan XI. After retiring as a player he coached Real Valladolid, Real Zaragoza and Real Murcia.

[edit] FC Barcelona
Ramallets first signed for CF Barcelona in 1946 at the age of 23. He then spent the 1946/47 season on loan at Real Valladolid. He returned to CF Barcelona where he became the second choice goalkeeper behind Velasco. He eventually made his La Liga debut in a 2-1 win over Sevilla CF on November 28 1948. Although this was his only appearance he made during the 1948/49 season, in subsequent seasons he established himself as the club’s regular choice keeper. He was a prominent member of the successful 1950s CF Barcelona team that also included Joan Segarra, Marià Gonzalvo, Ladislao Kubala, Sandor Kocsis, Evaristo, Luis Suárez and Zoltán Czibor. During his playing career with the club he made 538 appearances, including 288 in La Liga. On March 6 1962 CF Barcelona played a testimonial in his honour against Hamburger SV and won 5-1.

Between 1950 and 1961 Ramallets also played 35 games for Spain, making his debut against Chile on June 29 1950 during the 1950 World Cup. During the tournament he earned the nickname The Cat of Maracaná. Ramallets also played 7 game for the Catalan XI.
