Antipater of Tyre (1st century BC)

Antipater of Tyre was a Stoic philosopher, and a contemporary of Cato the Younger. Antipater is said to have befriended Cato when the latter was a young man. (Plut. Cat. Min. 4.) He appears to be the same as the AntiĀ­pater of Tyre mentioned by Strabo. (xvi. p. 757.). He probably should not be confused with the later Antipater of Tyre.
