Antim I

Antim I (Bulgarian: Антим I) (1816 - 1 December 1888), born Atanas Mihaylov Chalukov (Bulgarian: Aтанас Михайлов Чалуков), was a Bulgarian education figure and a clergyman, participant in the Bulgarian liberation and church-independence movement.
Antim I was born in Lozengrad and later studied in the Halki seminary and in Odessa. He graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary in 1856.
