Anticipatory Grief

Anticipatory grief refers to a grief reaction that occurs in anticipation of an impending loss. Anticipatory grief is the subject of considerable concern and controversy.[1]

Anticipatory grief does not always occur. It can include some or all of the usual symptoms of grief, including depression, and extreme concern for the dying person.
