Anthony Maher (born March 18, 1979 in Cape May, New Jersey, United States) is a striker currently playing for American USL First Division side Carolina RailHawksand a Forward for Professional Indoor Soccer Elite Franchise Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League (www.misl.net). Maher is also a member of the United States national soccer team that will take part in the 2007 Pan-American Games in Brazil. He joined the Wilmington Hammerheads on loan in 2006 to rehab a repaired ACL injury after missing a full year of outdoor soccer. His MISL team Chicago Storm was able to make the loan happen. He has also played for the Syracuse Salty Dogs and the Rochester Raging Rhinos. He started playing soccer while at Mercyhurst College where he was a 2001 First Team ALL-American (NSCAA) and All Time Goal Scorer in College history.
His brother, Matt Maher also plays Pro Soccer, recently a First Round Draft pick of the Major Indoor Soccer League, Newark. Matt was a captain for Temple University. His other brother, Mike Maher, also played College soccer at the United States Naval Academy and currently is a United States Naval Officer stationed in San Diego, CA.
