Anthony J. Biase

Anthony Joseph Biase (September 6, 1909-September 21, 1991) was an organized crime figure which headed the Omaha and later Denver faction of La Cosa Nostra during the 1950s.

Arrested on numerous charges including bookmaking, burglary and armed robbery in the Rocky Mountain area during the 1930s, he eventually became involved in illegal gambling operations in San Francisco, Los Angeles and later in syndicate casinos in Las Vegas. Biase later became an associate of Vito Genovese as the New York crime boss extended his criminal operations in the western United States and, following the conviction of mobster Anthony Marcella on charges of narcotics and tax evasion, succeeded Marcella as head of the Denver based crime syndicate.
