Anthony Hembrick

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anthony Hembrick (born February 22, 1966, Detroit, Michigan) was an amateur champion American boxer in the middleweight class and a member of the 1988 US Olympics team.

However, he is best known for never having had the opportunity to fight in the 1988 Olympics. Hembrick and his coach, Ken Adams, thought his first-round match was scheduled in the afternoon and boarded a bus at 10:30 a.m. after being unable to board a crowded bus half an hour prior. By the time Hembrick arrived at Chamshil Students' Gymnasium, he had been disqualified and the match was being awarded to South Korean Ha Jong-Ho.
