Anthony Field

Anthony Field (born May 8, 1963 in Camperdown, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian musician and actor. He is best known as a member of the children's group The Wiggles.

Field is the youngest of eight children. Before forming The Wiggles, Field was in the 1980s Australian pop/rock band, The Cockroaches alongside his brothers, Paul and John and another future Wiggle, Jeff Fatt. Following the breakup of The Cockroaches in the 1980s, Field enrolled in early childhood studies at Macquarie University in Sydney. Here he met the other members of The Wiggles, guitarist Murray Cook and vocalist Greg Page.

With the Wiggles Field originally wore a green shirt, but after a short time switched to blue because green became associated with the Wiggles character Dorothy the Dinosaur [1]. Field's schtick is eating, and is often portrayed as being particularly fond of fruits and vegetables. He admits however, to not being a fan of mangoes.

In the band Field serves as an instrumentalist and backup vocalist, but has been depicted as a drummer in several Wiggles television spots. In early Wiggles videos, Anthony created and played the part of the original Captain Feathersword. This role has also been played by Anthony's brothers Paul and John. It is now played and owned by WAAPA graduate, Paul Paddick.

Field's brother Paul serves as manager of The Wiggles.

Field is married to Mikaela Patisteas and has two daughters, Lucia Angela and Maria Claire. The couple are expecting their first son in April 2007. Both of his children have appeared in Wiggles productions, with Lucia performing the starring role in The Wiggles version of 'Music Box Dancer'. Field is a registered breeder of miniature fox terriers. He resides in a harbourside suburb of Sydney.
