Antelope Acres, California

Antelope Acres is an unincorporated community located in Los Angeles County, California. The town has a population of about 2,800. It is roughly 64 miles from the downtown Los Angeles Civic Center.

Water is supplied by four deep wells operated by the Land projects Mutual Water Co. There is no public sewer system. Waste material is disposed of by individual septic tanks located on each property. Propane is the common heating media.

There are two small grocery stores and a Nazarene church.

Fire fighting services include one local volunteer fire station with back-up provided by additional units from near by Lancaster. It also provides emergency medical services.

Nearby Del Sur Elementary School provides school bus service as do High School facilities located in near by Quartz Hill. The Antelope Valley Community College is also available.

The lifestyles of persons living in Antelope Acres tends to be rural. Many residents own and ride horses. They often raise their own beef, swine, and poultry. These endeavors are supported by a local chapter of 4-H.

Antelope Acres is located about 13 miles Northwest of Lancaster in the Antelope Valley portion of Southern California. The topography is essentially flat with an elevation of 2424 hundred feet.
