António Sebastião Valente

Dom António Sebastião Valente (January 20, 1846 - January 25, 1908), Portuguese clergy, archbishop of Goa and Primate of India (since 1881), bishop of Daman (1886), and first Patriarch of the East Indies, when Goese archdiocese was erected in a honorific Patriarchate in 1886; he also served, several times, as head of the government of Portuguese State of India (1886, 1889, 1892, 1894, 1897 and 1905).
