António Costa

António Costa, GCIH (born 17 July 1961 in Lisbon) is a Portuguese politician and was a Member of the European Parliament for the Socialist Party; part of the Party of European Socialists. On 20 July 2004 he was elected as one of the 14 Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament. He resigned as an MEP on 11 March 2005 to became Minister of Justice in the government of José Sócrates.

Also with a similar name, António José Costa is a famous Portuguese student, popular for the creation of many Portuguese traditions such as the Picanços and the Avio-te já! series of sentences. Recently, in one of his apparitions, he was seen falling to the "Ria de Aveiro", with one of his friends, and partner "Xiador da Ria" - Sérgio Pires also known as Burn!!
