ANSYS, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANSS) is an engineering simulation software (CAE) vendor. The company was founded in 1970 by Dr. John Swanson, and has its headquarters in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, United States. ANSYS, Inc. employs approximately 600 people and distributes its products through a network of about twenty-five field offices and several channel partners in over forty countries. On February 16, 2006 ANSYS announced that it would acquire Fluent, Inc. for 565 million U.S. dollars.
