"Another Suitcase in Another Hall" is a song from the musical Evita with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It was recorded by American singer Madonna for the 1996 soundtrack Evita. The song was released as the soundtrack's third and final commercial single in March 1997.

[edit] Song information

The single, which was only released in the United Kingdom, Australia and a few European countries, was not a big hit on the charts, entering at UK number seven but free-falling thereafter. It is the only one of Madonna's singles to fail to enter the ARIA Top 100 singles chart at all. The song was originally a UK hit for Barbara Dickson in 1977.

Interestingly, the song was originally not sung by the character of Eva but by Peron's deposed mistress. It was adapted to the role for Madonna to sing in the film version, adding a more vulnerable dimension to the character and another potential Madonna hit to aid the film's promotion.
