Anoopshahr is a city and a municipal board in Bulandshahr district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Anoopshahr is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 182 metres (597 feet).

The history of Anoopshahar begins even before 1200 B.C.This region is nearer to the capital of Pandavas - Indraprasth and Hastinapur. After of decline of Hastinapur, Ahar which is situated in the north of Anoopshahar became an important place for Pandavas. Mugal Emperor Jhangeer presented this area to king “Aniroy” to save his life during hunting. He made this place his capital.With passes of time the king Aniroy made a fort on this part of region and a king named Anoopshahar.At present this is called by this name.
During the period of king Tarasingh (the 8th generation of king “Aniroy”) this area progressed very much. At that time this area was famous for Ayurveda and business by boats in the north India. In 1857 during the first want of independence even Anoopshahar could not remain a lot by the popular explosion against the British rule. One message of resolution was carried from Aligarh by Pandit Narayan Sharma on 10th May 1857 to Bulandshahr.
The first popular alarm of feeedom struggle was sorrounded in the bulandshahar district by the nationalist, brave. The gurjaras of Dadri and Sikandrabad area began destruction of inspection bungalows telegraph offices and government buildings as they were symbols of foreign rule.
Anoopshahar was the first place in District to contribute in “Satyagrah”

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Anoopshahr had a population of 23,676. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Anoopshahr has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 59% of the males and 41% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
