Sixteen-year-old Anoka Abeyrathne born in 1990, who resides in Sri Lanka, recently won a gold medal and was chosen as an all-island finalist in the Festival of Music affiliated with the British Festival of Music organized by Joy Ferdinando. In 2005, Abeyrathne participated in the Children's World Summit for the Environment organized by the UNEP and held in Aichi, Japan. She was also highly commended by "Write around the World", a worldwide essay writing competition organized by the RCSC. She is currently following her academics.
