Annihilation Conquest is a 2007 Marvel Comics crossover event and a sequel to the Annihilation event from 2006. This series focuses on additional cosmic heroes who will be charged once again with defending the universe in its entirety. Nova is slated to return in a title role, along with Quasar, Starlord, and a new character by the name of Wraith.

While very few details as to the nature of this series have been discussed, it has been made official that the format will exactly mirror that of its predecessor with one minor difference. Instead of four, four issue, miniseries preceding the six issue main event there will be three. In place of the fourth will be four issues of the ongoing series Nova.

Aside from the four title characters, Ronan the Accuser, Moondragon, and Super Skrull appear on the prologue cover, indicating that they will have at least some involvement. No others have been confirmed, although speculation is rampant that cosmic mainstays such as The Silver Surfer, Galactus, Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, and possibly The Living Tribunal will appear. Another heavily rumored character, who has been absent for some time, is the enigmatic Adam Warlock.

The series represents a renewed commitment to Marvel's cosmic universe. With the overwhelming success of the first Annihilation series, spinoffs such as Heralds of Galactus, and an ongoing Nova series, the cosmic landscape is as active as it has been since the days of the Infinity Gauntlet. Not only has the success of Annihilation inspired further exploration into the Cosmic world, but also into other realms of the Marvel Universe as well. The upcoming series Mystic Arcanna, which delves in the world of magic through characters like Dr. Strange, is a derivative of Annihilation's success. Another rumored series focuses on the origins of characters such as Thor, and Ares, Marvel's legendary Gods.
