I believe that there is also a creature in Saga Frontier (a RPG by Squaresoft) called an Ankheg.

SquareSoft has a history of "cribbing" D&D monsters, probably most famously the illithids and sauhagin for Final Fantasy. MasterGrazzt 06:38, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

The Ankheg is hardly unique to those two games, but since D&D seemed to feature it first, why is Final Fantasy getting credit for it?

Is that how it's spelled now? I remember it with an extra H, "Anhkheg". Or is my memory just shot? :) --Ebyabe 01:16, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
