Anil Biswas (composer)

Anil Biswas (July 1914 - May 2003) was a famous music composer whose songs graced Indian films from 1935 to 1965. He was arguably the greatest Indian film music director of 20th century.

Born in Barisal (now in Bangladesh) in 1914, he first made his name in Kolkata in the early 1930s and moved to Mumbai around 1934 where he soon began getting independent assignments as composer. His last film was Chhoti Chhoti Baaten (1965).
