Anhui clique
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Anhui clique (Chinese: 皖系; pinyin: Wǎn Xì) was one of several mutually hostile cliques or factions that split from the Beiyang Clique in the Republic of China's Warlord era. It was named after Anhui province because of its founder, Duan Qirui, was born in Anhui. The Anhui Clique participated in the Zhili-Anhui War (1920) for control of Beijing.
