[edit] Welcome Message

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Again, welcome! —Kf4bdy talk contribs

[edit] Old Kingdom Edits (formerly "quick & dirty")

Hi there. I, like you (apparently) like Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series, and have done some work on Wikipedia to help improve these articles. I have two quick things to say:

  • Be careful with your edits.
As much as I hate reverting good edits, you added some content to the Five Great Charters article that certainly violated Nix's copyright. Try adding that again without the poem, which is the content in question. On the other hand, simple mistakes can be deadly - Terciel did not imprison Touchstone as a wooden figurehead, because Terciel is not 200+ years old. I appreciate your work, but please make sure it's good.
  • Help the group!
Since there are a lot of short articles about the Old Kingdom series, locations and people within, there's a general move to merge all these perpetual stubs into a big non-stubby article. If you're interested, see User:Abhorsen327/Sandbox for one of these.

Thanks! Yeah, I wondered if I should have left out the poem snippet. And sorry about the Terciel error; for some reason I had the feeling it was Terciel, bleh. -- Angela 14:11, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes. Some of the stuff you've added and changed has and will help. Just make sure nothing's fancruft; I have to watch that as I finish up my rewrite of the Shade's Children article ;) Nihiltres 13:31, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Five Great Charters

I see you added another Abhorsen to Five Great Charters#Known Abhorsens. Alliel, was it? You provided a source, but are you sure this is an official Nix-made site? I'm afraid the site might be fan-made.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 02:02, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

It looks pretty official to me -- he's linked it from his website along with a few others that seem quite official. His note with the link to abhorsentrilogy.com is at the top of the page. :) -- Angela 02:25, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Um...the link seems to be broken. :|--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 04:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Ooops. Sorry! x_x I accidentally put a pipe in there. :s -- Angela 05:07, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, if you (and Mr. Nix) say so. I was suspicious because the web site didn't have anything saying it was made by Nix, and becuase it wasn't written in any of the books. You were right! :)--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 16:03, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I know, I might be suspicious myself in the same situation. :) -- Angela 22:27, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
