Angus Murray Lincoln Sampson born in Sydney, Australia, is an Australian actor based in Melbourne and Sydney. A former professional rugby player, Sampson studied Medicine and Spanish before choosing a career in the arts. He was educated at Trinity Grammar School in Sydney and at The Armidale School (TAS) in northern New South Wales.

Sampson has had a varied film career, with major roles in films including Darkness Falls, Razor Eaters, Kokoda and Footy Legends. He is currently filming Spike Jonze's Where The Wild Things Are, a feature-film adaptation of Maurice Sendak's 1964 picture book of the same name. He was a special guest juror at the prestigious Melbourne International Film Festival during 2006.
In addition, he is currently developing a screenplay entitled Vultures, with good friend and Saw writer and star Leigh Whannell, who was also previously a presenter on Recovery.[1]

Sampson's acting career launched in 1996 thanks to a role as Dylan Lewis's mysterious sidekick "The Enforcer" on ABC music show Recovery. Later television jobs include roles on The Secret Life of Us, The 10:30 Slot and Greeks on the Roof. More recently, Sampson has made frequent guest appearances on the hit improvised show Thank God You're Here winning the first series. In addition, Sampson has appeared in television advertising campaigns for the Australian Film Institute firstly alongside Mel Gibson in a Mad Max clip then subsequently with John Jarratt, hitchhiking through Wolf Creek. He also lent his voice to an ad promoting Safe Swimming.

Sampson is a much pursued guest but is only an occasional co-host of Australian radio show Get This with Tony Martin on Triple M, where his dislike of talking about himself seriously and penchant for amusing anecdotal namedropping has spawned a segment where callers try to "out-namedrop" Angus.
